People say that before you die, your whole life flashes right before your very eyes and you'll remember how it all began. I guess this also applies to relationships. Before it ends, you'll think about the beginning.

I slammed the door behind me, but to my dismay, it is not shut. How typical of my apartment door, it can never be shut properly. So, I did what any upstanding young gentleman did, I kicked it. As I kicked it, I slipped on the front step and fell down. Luckily, I did not sustain any serious injuries.
"Bloody snow, makes everything slippery."

As usual I was blaming something else for my shortcomings, in this case it was the snow. I looked around and the sight was truely breathtaking. Everywhere I look there is snow. Magnificent sight. And it struck me. Where I am sitting right now, is the place where it all started.

We just got back from dinner like usual, and I sat outside on the front step.
"Jack, aren't you coming in? It's pretty cold."
"I'll be right there in a sec. I love to just sit here for a while, you know?"
She then came by and sat beside me.
"So, what do you do while you are sitting here? Reminiscing? "
"Nope, I do nothing."

I looked at her, she put on her puzzled and confused look. My heart starts to beat faster and faster like the drums on Expert Mode in Rock Band 2. She looked so beautiful that night. And in the period of knowing her for a couple of months, she's been absolutely nice to me. At that particular moment, I did something I should not have done. I caved in to my emotions. At that time, I thought to myself, this is the person that I was looking for in my entire life.

So, I grabbed her hand, and I stroke it gently. She looked surprised but she reciprocated. I was high as a kite back then. Happier than a junky who just got his fix. This is it I thought. Little did I know, that this will lead to my demise.

I was awaken back to the harsh cold reality by a phone call.
"Hey Ay08, wazz up?"
Stay calm Jack, be cool. You've undergone a month of intensive training just for moments like these.
"Would you like.... to join us for a snowball fight?" she said it hesitantly. There's like a weight in her sentence that was anchoring her down
"Naaa, I'll pass...I need to go to college today. Thanks away."

We ended our conversation there. Cold just like the weather. I guess this is the way it should be, the best course of action to take. I got up from the steps and began walking to college. And while I was walking, I thought to myself how it ended, or how it is going to end.

I guess it is true what they say, before your relationship is completely destroyed, you'll think about how it all started. Oh yah, when I say 'they' I meant movies.
